I need help coming up with stage names for a horror/surf-themed band I'm in. So I've got this just-for-fun band, The Boogeymen.

Our shtick is we do surf/spaghetti western type instrumentals with a nod to horror movies or fiction.

Our first show is in a couple of weeks, and we will be performing in costume. We all are to have stage personas, something that mashes up horror characters with classic rock themes. For example, I'm Mummy Holly. I'll be wearing the appropriate costume. Our rhythm guitarist has adopted the moniker Johnny B. Ghoul. You get the gist.

We need two more. Any suggestions?

What instruments do the as-yet unnamed members play? Does that factor in at all? I mean, do you want the drummer to be named after a drummer or does it not matter?

I'm going to suggest going in a slightly different direction, and using names suited to undead surfers, rather than names that pun on pop culture.

Biff Daywalker. Chad Soulsucker. Animal Braineater (all surf movies had a character named "Animal"). Cannibal (this is good because it sounds like a surfer name and an undead name). Kahuna Gibbets.

There's already a band called the Bloody Hollies, which is a crying shame, since it's such a great name.

I always thought a cool name for a band would be Universal Monsters, but that doesn't connote surf or even 50s horror movies, as much as, say, Ghouliani does.

one of my fav previously local bands was called Angry Johnny and the Killbillies. I believe they're still around. Angry Johnny was his legal name too. As in, in the phone book. Sorry no suggestions. But a surfrockhorror themed band sounds awesome. gonna post on metamusic or whatever it's called?
