I'm trying to troubleshoot a friend's toshiba dynabook 3000 ss and my googling skills aren't helping me dig up the drivers I'm looking for. [mi]

Toshiba's english support site doesn't seem to want to acknowledge the existence of a dynabook line at all. In particular, I'm looking for display drivers for whatever setup the dynabook comes with (right now it looks all chunky and stuff because its just using some generic plug and play junk). I'm also looking for win98se drivers for a pcmcia panasonic kxl-808an external cd-rom drive.

I have the sneaking suspicion "dynabook" is just a japanese name that maps directly to some number in the portege or satellite line, but I haven't been able to find anything to corroborate that (and according to the toshiba support site there is no portege 3000 and the specs for the satellite 3000 don't match up).

Response by poster: naw that's for xp. the dynabook 3000 ss is a pentium 1 with around 64 mb ram. i'm looking for drivers for win98se. I think i forgot to mention that in the part where I was talking about the display drivers. Thanks for the try though.

You have a NeoMagic Magicgraph 128 or NeoMagic MagicMedia 256 chip. Try poking around here.

It took a bit of googling, but the key was finding out that this machine is called "ss3000," not "3000 ss." It's equivalent to the North American Portege SS3000 from what I can tell. I don't read Japanese any more, so that's about the best I can do for you.
