Lost childhood books filter: This is a weird one

I keep seeing snatches of this in my mind, but I don't remember what on earth it was. I see snatches of colors arranged in a scale, and that it was possibly a book that contained pieces of fabric. What I remember most vividly is that one of the pieces of fabric was gold lame.

OK tell me I'm crazy but this is all I have to go on. I keep seeing that gold fabric in my mind and getting happy. And in this book, I guess gold was part of the colors of the rainbow.

I grew up in the late 70s, early 80s if that helps.

Was it one of the Rainbow Fish books by Marcus Pfister? As soon as you said 'scale' I thought of fish, and now I can't think of anything but fish.

This is the book that came to mind after reading your description. I seem to remember being able to "touch" things in this book. Or perhaps it was another title by the author Eric Carle.

This book didn't have physical fabric but it had textured stickers in it...and lots of rainbows.

Growing up in the early 80s I had a book, I think it was called The Soft Book, that was made out of fabric, probably felt. Don't remember if there was any gold or not. I think you could attach and detach little felt objects to the felt pages with Velcro. I couldn't find any info about it on Google. Hope that helps, although I know it's a stretch.
