Thai food in Buenos Aires?

Any one know of an authentic Thai restaurant in Buenos Aires?

There are plenty of Fusion places, but that just doesn't do it for me. Porteños just can't handle spicy - they think ginger and garlic are spicy - and I'm craving spicy like crazy, having just come here from two months in Bangkok. So I suppose spicy and authentic are the key words here.

I don't know Buenos Aires, but in my experience unless an area actually has a sizable immigrant population (like, probably at least 500-1000) you're not going to get an authentic experience. That's definitely my experience here in Cairo, where there is zero Mexican or Latin American food. If you can find the ingredients, which might be easier, now could be a good time to learn how to make a curry.

Unless there's been an influx of Thais to B.A. I don't know about, you're out of luck. Why would there be such a restaurant in B.A.? Who would they cater to? Your best bet is to somehow acquire Thai spices and do your own Thai cooking. I lived for some years in B.A. and loved the place and the food, but yeah, porteños are not into spicy.

After I got back to the States from Taiwan, I had to stop eating Chinese food for about a year until I lost the sense memory of what the real stuff was like. If you've just come from two months in Bangkok, I'm afraid you're going to have to suck it up the same way. Cherish your memories and plan for a return visit to Thailand (where I also lived for some years)!

there may have been something in palermo hollywood, near av santa fe, north of cordoba.. but then again, it could have been just chinese. i know one fucking thing: you aren't going to find *anything* spicy in that goddamn beautiful city.

I can't verify the authenticity of any of these, but there are a list of South East Asian restaurants on guiaoleo.com.ar with reviews and ratings.

Lotus Neo Thai seems to have good reviews. As has been mentioned, it is difficult to find really spicy food in Buenos Aires.
