What kind of plant is this (hi-res here), and how does it like to be taken care of? posted by toxic to home & garden (4 comments total)
That's a portulaca/moss rose. It likes hot, dry conditions and full sun. In most areas, it's an annual. Don't water it very much! You can pinch off the dead flowers to encourage it to bloom more. posted by thehmsbeagle at 9:50 AM on July 27, 2007

Ehem. Or what Thehmsbeagle said. posted by metasav at 9:54 AM on July 27, 2007
This one can also seed itself and return next year, so don't be *too* anxious to deadhead it. Rather, pinch it back hard now and let it regrow/rebloom over the remainder of the summer. posted by Emperor SnooKloze at 3:35 PM on July 27, 2007
