My Palm Zire 71 needs a dust bunny removed; should I send it in, buy something new, or do it myself?

There's a dust bunny under the camera lens on my Palm Zire 71, which has been making my pictures rather annoyingly diffuse. It's out of warranty, so repairs will cost at least as much as I estimate this thing's resale value to be in its current condition. Should I bite the financial bullet and send it in for servicing, cut my losses and sell it as damaged goods, or throw caution to the wind, grab my geek toolkit, and attempt my own repairs?

Good god, go for the self-repairs. What have you got to lose? Live the adventure! (And take pictures for us, 'k?)

Your warranty's already gone, the service costs are prohibitive, you won't get a good price for it with the dust bunny defect...

Another vote for self-repairing it. If nothing else, it'll make a good blog post.
