Is there a way to "email an item" to Google Notebook?

I am evaluating several options for a personal/public Web notebook/journal. I have used Backpack in the past, but the lack of any kind of search utility is a deal-killer for me.

I've been playing around with Google Notebook and am starting to like it a lot. One thing that Backpack does well, though, is allow you to email an item to a specific page? Is there a way to do this with Google Notebook? If not, is there a way to hack it, either through Google Gears or Greasemonkey (or some other scheme)?

Thanks!

There's a Google Notebook extension for Firefox that allows you to add clippings directly in the browser.
