Should I have the gold plating on my watch renewed?

After two years of almost daily wear, the gold plating is starting to wear off my beautiful and beloved Bulova watch. Is it worth my while to get the plating renewed? How expensive would that be? How long would it last?

Plating wear lifetime.

Google "watch gold refinish" or similar for a few hits, or a good watchmaker (go to a real watchmaker rather than a general jeweler) should be able to arrange the work. No idea what it costs. Without knowing more about the watch it's hard for anybody but you to decide if it _should_ be done.
