Name My Car

CarNameFilter: Help me name my car please...

I was lucky enough to recieve my grandmother's white 1992 Volvo 240. I happen to love the cute little car... but I feel like it deserves a really manly name. I was working with The Glorius White ______ (thunder, chariot, etc) but my fiancee points out that my liberal leanings might not want such a... well.... problematic name.

I like strange names like my cats, Little Vinny Vango and Leonardo "Ducttape" Divinci

Any suggestions?!?! I'm pretty sure he is a guy car.

You really need to drive a vehicle for a few months to find out what her/his personality is. My '70 Impala is Sally, but goes by "Big Red" for some reason. My truck is Kurt. My CRX goes just by "little red", or when the clutch is acting up, "the albatross".

Go with a Native American type, something like Great White Streak.

If it helps, Volvos are known to collectors as "Swedish Iron", and the circle-with-arrow logo is an ancient chemcial symbol for iron.

I have a Saab, so I had the same dilemma. After much thought (ok, 5 seconds) I decided to call it "The Saab." Actually, since it is my only car, and I don't have to differentiate it from any other car, I often refer to it as "The Car." This keeps me from confusing it with "The Bike" or "Walking."

So, I vote for "The Volvo."

But if you want something more quirky, you MUST MUST MUST call it either "Delores" or "Mulva."

Did you see that episode of 30 Rock where Tina Fey's coworker starred in "The Rural Juror"? Say "The Rural Juror" out loud...just do it. The Volvo is just screaming for a "worst illiteration ever" award, maybe something like The White Velvet ReVolvorer
