Song on H&M in-store radio

Name that tune! H&M on State Street in Chicago plays this song all the time and every time I go in, I try to get enough lyrics to look it up on the internet and I always fail. Girl singer (not Fiona Apple, but has the same rough edge and approximate range. Her tone is sweeter, though). The first lyric is something like "you've got her picture. you've got her picture. you've got her picture on your wall" and I think there's something about scars toward the end of the song.

The line rises at the end, until she sings all the way through to "on your wall" when it falls again. Not heavily produced, no effects or driving oontz. It's a thinkin' girl song and longish for a pop song. It is driving me crazy. I did ask a salesgirl, who didn't know, and there's no "in store radio" info on their website.

Picture Me

Picture me, on a postcard
Picture me, on a magazine
Call me on my private number
You’ve got my photograph
On your bedroom wall
Picture me - coz everybody wants her
On a postcard - she makes them smile
Picture me - and everybody needs her
On a magazine - once in a while
Call me - coz everybody wants her
On my private number - she makes them smile
You’ve got my photograph - and everybody needs her
On your bedroom wall - once in a while
She is wanted, she is smart
She’ll make you special
She’s got it down to an art
She don’t argue, she’s on time
She is available
She’ll make you feel fine
She is wanted, she is smart
She’ll make you special
She’s got it down to an art
She don’t argue, she’s on time
She is available
She’ll make you feel fine
Picture me - coz everybody wants her
On a postcard - she makes them smile
Picture me - and everybody needs her
On a magazine - once in a while
Picture me...

"Pictures" by Sia?

You have her pictures
You have her pictures
You have her pictures
Everywhere

You're covered in stitches
You're covered in stitches
You think I can't see them
But I know they're there

Take her down from the wall
Let yourself fall
You can keep her frozen
Dorment at your core
You can try to move on
Tripped by stitches come undone

You lost your big heart
You lost your big heart
You lost your big heart
Beating bare

She gave you a new start
She gave you a new start
But you knew you'd lost her to despair

Your skin burns and prickles
Your skin burns and prickles
You're skin burns and prickles
When she's near

You try to play it cool
You try to play it cool
You try to play it cool
But you're filled with fear

Take her down from the wall
Let her go
Make her yours
You can keep her frozen
Dorment at your core
You can try to move on
Tripped by stitches come undone
You can try to move on
Tripped by stitches come undone
You can try to move on
Tripped by stitches come undone
You can try to move on
Or maybe she is the one

why dont you just ask someone who works there?

I had the same issue at The Limited, where I heard a great song and wanted to know what it was. A salesgirl was able to go to the back and find the CD cover so that I could scan through the titles for something that looked familiar. It's possible that the salesperson you talked to just wasn't willing to do that for you (was it particularly busy?) or I suppose it's also possible that they just get the CD with no information about what's on it. I would suggest going back when the store is empty (if that ever happens) and asking reeeeally nicely.

OH MY GOD I know what you're talking about, and I always come out of there with it in my head... but don't know the song, so I'll be watching this.

Asking the workers is kind of out of the question, in my opinion--they can be kind of... sassy?

(Maybe the preacher man across the street in front of Old Navy knows!)

thanks roomwithaview. now i know and can't deal with the earworm accordingly.

rhoticity do you mean the preacher man who says smokers can't get into heaven?

"Pictures" by Sia at YouTube. Man, YouTube's got everything, these days.

Sia's best known for her song Breathe, to which the Six Feet Under finale was scored. The Four Tet remix of that song, which I think it available on iTunes, is pretty terrific.

some stores actually hire an outside company to make mixes for them, though, so that ask-the-sales-associate trick might not always work. it's worth a shot though.

Mittenedsex: I worked at a store where the company muzak made the mixes (new one each month) and they provided a list of the song information in case customers wanted to know about a particular song.
