What is the name of this "yellow" 60s/70s song?

StonerMusicFilter: Please help me find the name of a 60s/70s song that has the line (I think) "shade of yellow".

Like a record, baby: I've got this song stuck in my head. It's a super stoner song from the sixties or early seventies. Probably from a one-hit wonder outfit. I have the music in my head and only part of a line- "shade of yellow" (I think). It has wonky, reverby guitars. Is that enough for anyone to tell me what it is? I could not find any trace of it on Google or Yahoo. Thanks.

The first thing that came to my mind was Donovan's "Wear Your Love Like Heaven," because of all the color references, but it doesn't actually have the line "yellow" in it. You can hear the song here. Donovan also did a song called "Mellow Yellow," which does have a reference to "yellow" in it.

Response by poster: It's definitely not "Mellow Yellow". It's sort Procal Harumesque. Sorry I wasn't clearer.

Response by poster: Nope, pretty sure it's not a Donovan song- thanks, though.

Damn. And if you know Procul Harum, you know it's not "A Whiter Shade of Pale," which was my next guess.

Best answer: Pictures of Matchstick men by Status Quo and covered by a bunch of people?

Response by poster: That's it! Thanks so much, spartacusroosevelt. (I got confused by the "shade"- it's "a funny kind of yellow".

Rock out, everyone.

All of those years working at the classic rock record store were good for something. If you are in your thirties like me you are more likely to remember the Camper Van Beethoven cover than the original.

That's hilarious, spartascusroosevelt. I didn't even know it was a cover.
