Vertical Blinds: replacement slats (vanes)?
I recently rented a new apartment, and all the windows (and the sliding-glass door) have white vinyl vertical blinds. I'd like to replace all the slats with colored fabric slats, leaving the rest of the hardware intact. I spent an hour searching online, and the only place (in the US) I found that sells replacements was yourblinds.com, but at $4+ each, it's a little too expensive (considering I'm looking to replace approximately 60 of them).
Does anyone know of any other place that sells replacement slats? I'd also be open to some sort of "sleeve" that I could slide over each of the current vinyl slats, but not being handy enough to make them myself, I'd need them to be pre-made...

(When I left my dog home alone for the first time last year she ended up turning the bottom half of my blinds into an abstract art piece. For a year I've been wondering how I was going to fix the damage before it's time to move.)

I'm not sure if you've found a solution to your vertical blind problem yet, but I know how plain and ugly those blinds can be. If your still interested in changing your blinds for a fraction of the cost, check out my redesign kit and see if this is something you are interested in. I have the kit on my sliding glass windows vertical blind and I LOVE IT.
