Catering opinions from D.C.

Has anyone in the D.C. area used Matters of Taste catering for an event (or been a guest at such an event)? My fiance and I were considering them for our wedding, and curious for any impressions others might have. (Due to location choice, our options are limited--so suggestions of other caterers won't be of any use to us.)

Do you know about The Knot.com and Indie Bride.com? They're often mocked for their bridezillaness, but they have discussion topics of vendors by region. My friend was just married in DC and she was on their boards constantly.

I have attended several functions in the downtown golden triangle area where they were servicing (between 100-200 ppl each). The food was excellent and the servers were typically well mannered and courteous.

Stevis, if they are the required caterer for an event at a location have you considered looking to see what other events are going on at that location and contacting some of the organizers? They could be a great organization that is unable to effectively service that one location for whatever reason, so since your goal is determining if YOUR wedding with be ruined that's your best way to get a definitive answer, i think.
