German Comics Archive?

Is there an archive of German comics anywhere in Germany? (Or even elsewhere)

Really looking for something like the British Library newspaper archive, a dedicated national collection in which the originals could be read through. The two comics of interest are SIGURD and AKIM, and both stretched from the late 1950s right into the mid-60s. Any help much appreciated.

The Institut für Jugendbuchforschung in Frankfurt has a comic archive and according to this (pdf) they have at least some issues of Sigurd and Akim there.

Berliner Comicbibliothek could have something. They also have a link page that might be helpful.
