In Boulder for the summer. Need a haircut. Theodoric of York need not apply.

Can anybody recommend a good barber or stylist who specializes is cutting men's hair in/near Boulder, Colorado? I am here for the summer and need a haircut but dread the inevitable butchering I typically receive at the hands of strangers picked randomly from Google searches. I don't need anything crazy or unusual, just a good scissor cut. Bonus points if it is pretty cheap (less than $20).

Names of particular stylists and the shop where they work preferred over just the names of shops, but both would be helpful.

Best answer: When I moved down to the area I started going to Louie's in Broomfield, and since I'm not a big critic of how I look, I continue to go there. They're west of 287 just north of the 287/US 36 interchange (from boulder, keep going past Flatirons Crossing one more exit, I think). There's a Wendy's very near there, and they're one block west of 287 in a stand alone building that looks nothing like a barber shop. 450 Alter St is the address. It's definitely a guys place, with sports trophies on the wall and some game on the TV. 3 barbers (including Louie) are always working when I go in on Saturday mornings. It's crowded at that time, so expect a wait. They're a bit more full service than I was used to, with straight edge razor work when finishing my hair, then using it above my ears and on the back of my neck. Price is $14.

I'm horrible with names, so I don't remember the names of the other barbers besides Louie. Some of the patrons do prefer one guy over the others. I've been with all three and I look the same each time, so I don't have a preference. Louie works the chair closest to the door and cash register, and he'll probably be the first to say hello to you when you enter.

I found some barbers on Craigslist - not professional, but usually students of the trade...
