Where to watch NHL games in Kingston, ON?

Which are the best bars/pubs to watch Stanley Cup Games in Kingston, ON?

I'm a Sens fan who will be attending a conference at Queens next week. Where should I go to watch the games on Monday and Wednesday? Easy walking from Queens preferred ... as are pubs with good beer (does the Kingston Brewing Company have TVs?) and perhaps an older crowd.

Best answer: The Sports on Brock St is one my favourites. It's small with a big screen and awesome food. You'll have to try the Fat City burger or the sweet-hot wings if you go. They don't have a wide selection of beers on tap, we usually end up with Carlsberg or a Guinness but that doesn't change the fact that it's a hoot to watch games there. Might even see you there!

Best answer: KBC does have TVs - lots of smallish ones, perched so you can almost always see one, although they are small. And great beer and good food. Usually has an adult crowd, not university students; I don't know what the crowd will look like on game night. It's a sit-down kind of place, not a everyone-holding-their-pint jostling-for-position kind of place.

Best answer: On a map of Kingston:
Everything downtown is an easy walk from Queen's - it's all flat and within a couple of km. Princess St is the main drag with shops and restaurants.

If you walk north from Queen's up Barrie St, when you hit Princess you will be in the main "hub" of all the undergrad bars and clubs.

If you walk northeast from Queen's, roughly following King St, you will be in more adult, non-student bar territory by the time you hit Princess, and just south of Princess. (KBC is near here; The Toucan has a mixed crowd, cramped space, big tv downstairs; there's one on the corner of Clarence and King that has one or two monster mega TVs, though I haven't been in there it looks yuppieish; there are probably ten bars with a couple of blocks, all nice enough. KBC's my favorite though.)

Best answer: Also, the Grad Club, which is on campus, will probably be showing the games. You can ask at the bar and if the room with the giant TV isn't booked then it's all yours. They have excellent food and an awesome selection of beer. It is my favourite watering hole in all of Kingston.

I find the Toucan to be a little dank and smelly for my tastes and the KBC, while a great pub, has tvs that are too small. My two cents.

Response by poster: Thanks for the suggestions. Where I go may depend on how early I can get out of whatever evening commitments I'm supposed to be at. If I'm rushed I'll hit the Grad Club - I think I have a map of the campus here somewhere. If I have time I'll head downtown where it sounds like I could do a pint in a different pub for each period plus several overtimes.

Grad Club is a great suggestion. And if the rumors I've heard are true, they may tear it down, so see it while the seeing is good. It might be a bit on the empty side, which could be a plus or a minus depending on what you want.

They're not tearing it down, the rumours are false. I'm on the board so I think they would have told us.

! That's excellent news. It's one of the nicest spaces in town to hang out.

Response by poster: Well the Grad Club isn't on my campus map, but I found this page that indicates that it closes at 8 on Mondays in the summer. Guess I'll head downtown. Wednesday is more of a problem as we're actually coming back to Ottawa for a day of meetings and won't be leaving until 7ish (it's a group of 120 so I have no control over the times) meaning I'll miss much of the game.
