Looking for a dpreview for cars

Any dpreview/tomhardware alike for cars ? I am looking for a practical equivalent of what dpreview is to digital photography , but for cars. I care about accurate date (weight, dimensione, inside, outside, output in Kw, couple and whatnot) and not for "the interior is upscale outstanding" bullshat. Would be outstanding if focused on european market.

In the US, Consumer Reports. You need a paid subscription though.

I'm not sure what dpreview/tomhardware are, but good basic stats on cars can be found at edmunds.com and epa.gov.

Response by poster: Dpreview is arguably the best review site ever on consumer and prosumer digital cameras.

In addition to the previous comments (especially edmunds.com), I'd recommend Consumer Guide Auto. They give detailed charts of interior and exterior dimensions, full vehicle specs, and a relatively thorough (yet brief) review.

Edmunds' reviews are more thorough and verbose, and I particularly enjoy their Inside Line reports, which are very well-written write-ups of specific model years of vehicles. The writers are competent and the articles are not only informative but enjoyable to read. They've proven highly useful as an actual "driver's perspective" for me; they show more about the car than just numbers and figures, but how it actually responds and performs in the hands of someone who knows how to write about them.

Edmunds is still awesome, but has gone downhill in recent years, IMO. Their town hall forum used to be much better, in addition to having a better, less cluttered layout. They're still my first stop for anything auto, but I don't think they cater to Europe.

They also don't (usually) fall victim to the usual auto review fluffing. If there's something wrong with the car, they say so, and they do the long term tests, which are handy for the few cars they do.

You can try Parkers.

This is the de facto, consumer-focused, resource in the UK.

Yeah, wierdo, since they changed Townhall to CarSpace, I pretty much hate it. I told them as much, too, but they said to give it a chance. I've done that, and I'm still not impressed. Note that this only implies to the discussion forums, though.... the Edmunds car data and reviews are still top notch.

You might enjoy the Truth About Cars, although sometimes they are further toward the opinion side of things. Their editorials on the US auto industry are excellent.
