How many United States Congressmen are parents?
I read recently that 70 out of the 86 women in Congress are mothers. How many men in Congress are fathers?
This information has been surprisingly difficult to Google.

I think you'd have to do the research yourself (or wait for an obliging MeFite to do it for you). Where'd you read that there are 86 women in Congress? According to wikipedia, there are 74 female Representatives and 16 female Senators.

Response by poster: Yeah, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to look everyone up individually, especially considering this is only to satisfy my own curiosity.

Here's one less to look up: Dan Lipinski (D-IL) does not have children.

Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) doesn't. Vic Snyder (D-AR), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) and Mark Pryor (D-AR) all do.

OK, so I went to the House of Reps site, and decided to help out by doing the 'A's.
Neil Abercrombie appears to have none (http://www.house.gov/abercrombie/about.shtml; vote smart also mentions none)
Gary Ackerman, yes (and grandkids to boot)
Robert Aderholt has a kid
Todd Akin has a handful of kids
Rodney Alexander, yes
Tom Allen, yes
Jason Altmire, yes
Robert E. Andrews, yes (again, I point out that if I can't find it in their biography, I go to Project Vote Smart)
Michael Accuri, yes.

Eh, I figured to go through and only point out the ones who do NOT have children.
In the Bs, only these members of the House do not have children:
Tammy Baldwin (female)
Sandford Bishop has a stepchild that is not mentioned on his official site (take that as ye will)
Dan (David) Boren
Frederick "Rich" Boucher
And let me just say that goddamn, some of those sites were foul.

Sorry, it's "Rick", not "Rich", Boucher.

Holy cow, you're right. Thanks, wylde21.
