Art appraisal: Where to go? Who to trust?

Paintings from India, Africa... carpets... masks. Is there any point in trying to get one person to appraise it all? Less than 20 pieces in total, but packing it up would not be fun.

Experienced auction house. Maybe phone first, get through to the right department, briefly describe what you have, then email images. They won't give you an appraisal for, say, insurance for free, but they might well give a ballpark auction value, which may be of assistance to you.
