Coffee Shops in Charlottesville, VA.

Looking for a good coffee shop in the Charlottesville, VA. area for working in the evenings...

I'm on a extended vacation here at my parents farm outside of Charlottesville, VA. My work is flexible enough to accomodate this long trip, but, I do have work to do. My folks have WiFi but it's a little hard to work around here between my folks and my 16 month old son. I need good coffee, late hours, free WiFi and not a Starbucks. Anyone have any suggestions in C-ville?

I'm not sure how late it's actually open, but there are two Panera Bread shops in Charlottesville. They have coffee. And WiFi...mm..sweet WiFi.. Anyway, definitely the best chain store to work at for extended periods.

My friend swears by C'Ville Coffee in the downtownish area. The other option that I know is fairly nice is the Mudhouse, which I believe is on the downtown mall. This law school link has their addresses and some others. Cville coffee is also close to the Riverside cafe, which has insanely good, fairly cheap burgers.

Been to Panera. Thanks. Looking for something that's open until like 10 o'clock or midnight. If you can substitute beer for coffee in a quiet place. That will work too.

Indeed, the law school's page pretty much covers all the options I'm aware of, with the exception of Starbucks, which you've excluded anyway. Of course, there are plenty of places serving beer and open late, but none that I can think of are quiet enough to get work done.

If you are willing to drive a little bit west of Cville, come see us in Crozet. We have a couple of smallish, quiet, coffee-laden places that also have beer and are open late. I am not sure about Wifi, but you can call them and ask.

The nominees are: Cocina Del Sol, and The Three Notch'd Gril.

Unfortunately, as for coffee shops open late in Cville, there are none. It's ridiculous. My wife spends a lot of time at Java Java, but I think they close at 6:00.

Actually, looking at that law school page, Twisted Tea Branch has wifi, and they are in fact open late. The only thing to worry about is that many nights they have very loud bands playing.

I'll think about this more and post again, later.
