Did my friend dream this music video?

Yet another "help me find this music video" question. The Magnetic Fields? In front of a house? Hats?

My friend has been desperately trying to find a music video she saw on TV within the last year or so. It was probably a Magnetic Fields song, possibly with words along the lines of "in front of a house" in the title or lyrics, and the video consisted of clips of people putting on and taking off hats. Does this ring any bells?

I don't know the video--but could the song have been "In Front of the House", by Human Television? They were described as being similar to Magnetic Fields.

There's a song by The Books which when they play it live is accompanied by old black-and-white video of men putting on and taking off hats. I don't know the name, though. They have a DVD with their videos that's either just released or about to be.

Best answer: I have seen a Magnetic Fields video in the last six months that kinda meets that description. I had seen it on "New York Noise," an indie vid show in the NYC area. The video is black-and-white, and is just clips of old movies of men taking off their hats as they enter a room. It's briskly edited and very funny.

If that sounds like the same video, there's an email address for New York Noise on this page that your friend could use to find out the name of the song.

Best answer: I've also seen this on New York Noise--it's Absolutely Cuckoo by The Magnetic Fields and is off 69 Love Songs. Can't find the video on Youtube, sadly.

one of these sites might know, or have a copy of the video.

Response by poster: I bet she did see it on New York Noise (we're in NY), so I'm sure Absolutely Cuckoo is it. The video doesn't appear to be online anywhere, unfortunately. Thanks all!
