Where to get a cartoon drawn?

Where can I have a cartoon / caricature drawn of a friend. I saw a site ages ago where you could upload some photos, pay some money via Paypal and have a caricature drawn. I think this would make a super birthday present ... but where was that site?

Best answer: Does it have to be online? In most cities I've visited there will be a few (or more) artists in the downtown area that will do this as well.

In any event, a quick look-see came up with this:
Caricature by DimpleArt
Caricature King
My DaVinci

There was a website that offered vector portraits in the style of the iPod ads a while ago, for about $20 a pop... my google-fu fails me, though.

Best answer: The guy who draws the Joy of Tech comic offers head portraits.

This doesn't answer your question at all. But I like it.

Any large mall or "festival shopping" area probably has a couple of caricature artists working the crowds. Over by the food court.

Best answer: There was a mention of Iconize Me! in Wired a few years ago- is that what you are thinking of? I'm pretty sure that's the site that Xere mentioned, at least.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone!

The Joy of Tech one is the one that had escaped my mind. However the other links have given me some great options to consider.
