BotanistFi: Help us identify this flower...
My wife and I were walking around our neighborhood and we saw this flower:

We'd like to try to plant them in our own yard, but Google's image search didn't seem to help ( and we're painfully shy with our neighbors).

Looks like Oenothera speciosa aka Pink Evening Primrose to me.
Easy grower, spreads well, and absolutely lovely in bloom.

There's also this variety of geranium. What did the rest of the plant look like? And where are you?

Another variation is Mexican Evening Primrose. It's lovely and hearty, and doesn't need much water.

The Primroses have it. It's a Mexican Primrose. They grow very well in temperate climates and bloom through the spring and summer. They spread, but they're not too hard to get rid of if they spread into an area where you don't want them.

Well that is weirdness; I can see my link got doubled with the opening page link, but I still get the correct page when I click on it - apologies, and thank you Steven C. Den Beste, yes that is the page I intended.
