PantsFilter (mens division): It took me 30 years to find a cut of jeans that I think are comfortable and stylish enough. And then Levi's discontinued the 567s.

These were seriously the only jeans that I have ever been comfortable in. (Tight enough in the places they needed to be, didn't look loose, but where loose enough not to trap my keys in my pockets and didn't tie my junk in knots.)

Anyone have any alternatives for a reasonably skinny 6ft 160 pound guy who wants slightly loose jeans? I'd rather not spend another 30+ years trying to find comfy ones.

Extra difficulty: No online stores or Big Box brands.

We are probably around the same build, so I would suggest that if you are looking for something cheap, go for Wranglers. More money, go check out Diesel, they have some excellent base and modded jeans.

Levi's dumped me also, I went over to Gap's jeans. No complaints.

The 567 looks like every pair of low rise loose fit bootcut jeans on the market today - Gap certainly should have some if you're not looking to spend the money, and if you are, the denim section at any Saks or Bloomingdale's will have tons of options - though you might have problems as this really loose fit isn't quite as popular these days.

try a levi's outlet. i bet they'll have lots of them.

also you outta try the 527's. i'm a similar size as you (5'11", 165 lbs) and i have gotten lots of compliments on how good the 527's fit me.

I'd imagine they dumped them because boot cut is falling out of style and straight leg is in, or so I've been led to believe. I had some 567s and recently bought the 514 style. It's not going to be as wide at the leg opening and lacks the tapering you had on the 567 pairs.

With the exception of classic styles like the 501s and such (which have changed in cut slightly anyway), you're probably at the whims of which cut is fashionable in most jeans.

A.P.C. Sure they're expensive, but for the tall and skinny they are the best cut jeans I've ever had. And they look as good as they cost. They have a store in Tokyo, and they are probably sold somewhere in San Fran, but I wouldn't know where....

Thanks for helping me narrow it down.

I was at the Levi's flagship store and asked around, but I think the staff is ... not that into their merchandise. They said they'd been discontinued a year a go (the 567) and that they didn't have anything remotely like them now, so I didn't bother trying the 527 or 514.

I had totally forgotten about Diesel. I'll give them a look and APC.

Oh and "no online stores" because I don't buy any clothes without trying them on first. They get returned without fail. Especially Levi's which can have a lot of variation in manufacture between the same make and model. (And no box stores because they're a pain in the ass to get to from where I live.)
