Funny biking movie?

I'm looking for the name of a movie that I was told about a long time ago by someone.

They described one scene to me, saying that a guy was trying to keep up with pro bikers, and the first time they knocked him over. Later he caught up, and then the pro bikers stuck a stick or something in his spokes and he was out for good. I know this isn't a very good description, but I was hoping someone would recognize this scene. Thank you!

P.S. I do not remember who told me about this movie, so I can't ask them about it.

Response by poster: Thank you! I remember now that I look at that page that the person said the title was "The Cutters".

Won an Oscar. My favorite part of the the IMDB listing is the keywords.

Plot Keywords:
Bowling Ball / Car Wash / Cigarette Smoking / Cologne / Pizza.

Your typical cycling movie.

Funny and moving!

Dad: "No, I don't feel lucky to be alive! I feel lucky I'm not dead. There's a difference."

Dad: "I know I-tey food when I hear it! It's all them "eenie" foods... zucchini... and linguini... and fettuccine. I want some American food, dammit! I want French fries!"

(Thanks, IMDB!)

Really one of my favorites. Better-than-best is the scene where he drafts a tractor-trailer at 60 mph!
