Why can't I access metafilter from home anymore?

So, ever since metafilter was down for some kind of maintenance (March 22nd-ish), I haven't been able to access it from my home computer. I've been able to check status.metafilter.com to see that everything should be ok at this point, but every day I dutifully browse over to ask.metafilter.com, see the favicon appear, but nothing else.... the status bar in the browser says "contacting metafilter.com" but never resolves. And it never gives me a "server not found" or anything like that. I've left it spinning away overnight, and nothing.

Obviously, I'm having no trouble accessing it from the road, or from work, but on my home network, nothing. It's driving me nuts! I need complete world knowledge at my fingertips!

Assorted trivia: this morning when I typed in ask.metafilter.com, the address immediately forwarded to the april fools address, but again, no page loaded or anything, and the status bar just said "contacting" forever. But obviously some kind of communication is taking place, right? Also, there's another computer in our home, also unable to access metafilter, and the laptop on which I now write is unable to access it from home, but perfectly fine accessing it from the road. I've tried all browsers. All computers are Macs. FWIW, I'm (normally) in San Franscisco and my ISP is Covad.

So can anyone tell me what's happening, and is it my ISP's fault? And what do I do about it? I may never be able to read your responses, but I'll sure appreciate your help.

This post was deleted for the following reason: We have this thing called MetaTalk, made especially for this sort of thing.

This is not what Ask Metafilter is for.
