Shouldn't M$ have shipped my free shit by now?

Did you sit through the insufferable webcasts, via the Microsoft "power together" campaign, in an attempt to get a free copy of Vista or Office 2007? If so, have you received your software yet?

They did already. Were you one of the first 500 to do the webcast?

Got my copy of Office 2007 (or rather, a download link and activation code) a few weeks ago.

I think so, BP. This was in an early January email:

Congratulations. You've learned how to leverage the 2007 Microsoft Office system to enable to workers to get connected to the information they need. And now your free, full-licensed copy of the Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is on its way.

Please be patient. We cannot ship your gift until Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is released to manufacturing. Your free software should arrive in six to eight weeks after RTM. If it doesn't arrive after eight weeks, please contact a customer service representative at Windows Vista and Office Kit Order Admin. Be sure to have your confirmation number XXXXX on hand.

My emails, not surprisingly, have not been returned.

I posted a thread about it in SH/SC at SA at the time, and of the dozens (hundreds?) of people who said they'd taken advantage of it, most have also reported back in that thread that they've received their copies.

Yep, got my copy of Vista over a month ago. I'm not sure what dictates the shipping dates. I completed all 3 web casts before most people even signed up so that might explain why I got mine so quickly.

I got my copy of Office a few weeks ago. Well, actually, I got an activation code, and little else.

I did the Power Together thing too (actually, I just let the webcasts play in the background while I did something else) and got my copy of Vista about a month ago. A co-worker got Office at about the same time, and someone else in the office who wanted both got them already too.

As I understand it, they weren't expecting so many people to do it and may have run out.

I got my copy of Vista through that program over a month ago, roughly at the same time they went to retail. So, yeah, it worked, at least in my case.

Oh, and by the way, you didn't have to watch the casts. There was a 24 hour timer--after you clicked on them, 24 hours later, it would tell you that you had completed your requirements.

Ditto. Received a package in early February with the Vista DVD-ROM and the download instructions and product key for Office Professional. Much quicker than I expected. Can't say I remember a single thing from the webcasts, though. :)

They finally replied to my email, after three days. Allegedly, my building refused the shipment. I don't know why they shipped it, rather than sending me a download link. No word yet on resolution.

Thanks, everyone.
