Fun things to do in Steamboat Springs?

Reccomendations of what to do in Steamboat Springs, CO?

I'll be at a conference in Steamboat Springs soon, and do not ski. In fact, I'm not very winter outdoorsy at all. I'm not good at walking in snow and ice, and unfortunately am not very athletic anymore, so ice climbing or things like that won't work for me.

Are there any interesting places to visit I should know about? I won't have a car, so it's a bonus if there are shuttles available from the ski area. Or do I just head back to my room each night and watch DVDs?

Definitely check out Strawberry Fields hot springs right outside of town, if you're into that kind of thing. Great setting, very natural, surrounded by woods.

I think there may be a bus or shuttle service, your hotel concierge will definitely know-- the springs are rather famous. (By the way, they aren't the springs IN town, that place is more like a regular swimming pool/health club with no atmosphere.)

There are horseback riding places and also really good snowmobiling to be had around Rabbit Ears' Pass.

The last time I was in Steamboat I rode in a hotair balloon -- because of the basket's proximity to the burner, its not even cold.

Oh yeah! We really enjoyed Strawberry Hot Springs last summer! Take a picnic lunch & drinks with you. There's shuttle info on their website. (In fact, in the winter they tell you take the shuttle rather than driving; those roads are steep!)
