Alternative Remote For DVD-V7400

I would like to buy a Pioneer DVD-V7400 Industrial DVD Player, which are going pretty cheap on ebay. However, the ones on ebay don't come with remotes, and buying the remote alone costs 50-60 bucks. So the question is: what are the chances that this player will work with a universal remote?

If it helps any, the remote product number is cu-v162.

Pretty good, but not certain. Depending on how freakish it is, you might have to manually input some of the codes it needs, but certain brands (One for All) make it relatively easy to assign any code to any button on the remote.

The problem with the OFA models is that they obfuscate the button codes, so even if you have the original button code number you have to look it up in a table and translate it to their obfuscated number. It's not hard, but it is tedious. Something like a Logitech Harmony would be easier to program, but would cost more than the original remote.
