Where can I buy pounds of Indian mustard seed (Brassica juncea)? We need it for a phytoremediation project in New Orleans and all of the seed suppliers in our area (NC) don't carry it. Any ideas?

It's sometimes called "India mustard seed" and I'm not sure which one is correct. I'm not the project lead here, can you tell? Help!

Fedco Seeds in Maine - they sell in bulk, and (even Better) they are a seed cooperative.

Thanks Vers, that looks good. Skepticallypleased, thanks for the pat answer, but I'm not sure Indian mustard seed is the exact same as the Brown or Yellow varieties. Is it?

I should clarify that this is to plant (bioremediation uses plants to synthesize and neutralize toxins in the soil), not to cook. I'm not looking for ground or cooking-grade seeds.

Johnny's Selected Seeds also has several varieties of Brassica juncea in quanities up to 25 pounds - and your organization may qualify as a commercial grower (Johnny's sells to both home and commercial growers - I linked to the commercial side of their web site).

I've done business with Johnny's and Fedco, and they've both been wonderful.
