Help identify this 1980s exploitation horror movie based on this graphic scene description...

A few details about this movie which may or may not be completely accurate:

- Released in the early or mid 80s.

- A horror film about vampires (?) in New York City.

- One of the main characters drives a yellow taxi cab.

- Something likely seen late at night on a pay movie channel like Showtime.

The only scene I vaguely remember (probably because it was a bit graphic) is this:

It is night. A nightwatchman sits in his small booth in some sort of scrap yard. He has a stereotypical creepy appearance complete with thick eyeglasses. As he sits at his small post he is intently studying some sort of porno magazine.

A naked woman steps out of the shadows. She approaches the now-startled man. Standing face-to-face, they begin to kiss. As this "sex" scene progresses, we see the woman reveal a large knife. In a very theatrical flourish, we see the woman sweep this knife between herself and the man in a very fast and violent slashing motion, slicing off his erect penis.

(Despite the description, I don't remember this scene being explicitly gory.)

Any ideas?

Best answer: Its been about 15 years since I've seen the movie, but I think you're talking about Graveyard Shift

Response by poster: Excellent work (and so quickly answered) -- it is Graveyard Shift.

Reading about the film at various sites it looks like my description was pretty close -- I was a bit off on the date -- 1987.

Couldn't find any mention of the sex/murder scene I described anywhere else. Am I remembering it correctly khaibit?

I want to say yes, but its seriously been a more than 10 years since I've seen it, and I was watching a bunch of similar movies at the time.

Response by poster: Well, the scene I described may make the movie sound much more interesting than it actually was. ;)
