how to repair a synth?

I have a kawai k1 synth, it's been lying around for ages and took it out to play it with but a couple of the keys don't work now and another key always strikes at full velocity. Is this fixable by myself?

A post here discusses cleaning electrical contacts for the keys on a K1 (not in detail). Probably worth trying if you're comfortable using a screwdriver.
