So my friend told me that sometimes after he smokes weed, the first time he goes pee he pees for a REALLY long time. Does anybody know how come the peeing lasts so long after my "friend" smokes weed?

I think it's just because you forget you have to pee for like an hour when you're first stoned. So your bladder's pretty full by the time it occurs to you that you have to go.

I've also heard from a "friend" that perception can be a bit wonky at times like that, so it may just seem to last longer than usual.

The friend wouldn't be Weedmaster P, would it?

Weed means dry mouth, dry mouth means drinking more water/coke/beer/whatever, drinking more water/coke/beer/whatever means more peeing.

He just thinks he's peeing for a long time. My two-minute long Sonicare toothbrush program takes about ten minutes when I'm stoned.

I suspect it's a combination of the diuretic effect, plus the bladder comfortably holding more urine than usual, especially if your friend has a bit of an overactive bladder normally. Here's an abstract of a study showing that THC may have an effect on overactive bladder.

It's a mix between time perception and not feeling like you want to take a whiz until you put pressure on the bladder. If you're sitting around stoned for an hour or two, you might be inattentive enough to not realize that you really have to go until you get up.
