I'm looking for websites that will lead me to free things to do/see/eat/get specifically in Washington, DC. What sites do you know of and or search techniques I can use?

The sites that I've come up with so far is the free section on Craigslist and the Washington, DC Freecycle group and Upcoming.org. Any thoughts?

www.dcist.com doesn't specifically cover FREE stuff, but if there's something free going on, they're sure to mention it.

Tyler Cowen's Ethnic Dining Guide has an extensive DC area section; I've used it quite a few times with great success.

You can check out these two blogs about the D.C. arts scene. Not necessarily just free stuff, but they do mention lots of free openings, etc. Also check out this washington post list of upcoming 2007 festivals and events, many of which are free (probably call at the listed number just to be sure). Similarly, check out the blog of the going out gurus at the washington post, here, for a list of upcoming events -- they often list free stuff.

For specific info on free events, check out the following blogs: About.com's list of free summer concerts, AOL's list of free summer events, the Kennedy Center's hours for free concerts at the Millenium Stage (as written up at the post here),
