sentinal pile, should i worry?

[anusfilter] should i be concerned about a sentinel pile that is annoying but not accompanied by any pain?

i've had it for 6-12 months (don't remember exactly), only recently learned the name for it, and can't find any info about them that's not associated with anal fissures. i'm pretty sure i don't have an anal fissure since i have no pain or visible blood.

its appearance has more or less coincided with a general change in bowel habits. i used to go daily, now i go 2-3 times a day, and my poo is much softer than it used to be (but not diarrhea).

no idea what caused the change. i am very active (no change there), drink plenty of water (no change), don't eat a lot of processed foods and seem to get enough fiber though my fruit/veggie intake is probably average for an american rather than ideal (no change). and i have not had anal sex or other intrusions.

so, does this sound like something to see a doctor about or something to go on ignoring? any personal experience? email me if you prefer: pilewtf@gmail.com

Unless there are issues preventing you from easily seeing a doctor, I would definitely make an appointment.

There may in fact be a fissure (sometimes painless), or there may be other issues, but a good look at your rectum if probably the key to a good diagnosis. Your only options in that area are a prostitute or a doctor, and I'm pretty sure your insurance won't cover one of those.

This is something to see a doctor about. Did you really need to ask?

IAMAD The change in your bowel movements sounds more like "Irritable Bowel Syndrome". It can cause you to have a bowel movement that looks like soft ribbons. Stress can be one facter that brings this on.

The things that come to mind are IBS, IBD, or even perhaps a mild case of Crohn's or colitis. Get thee to a doctor. The peace of mind is well worth the 20 dollar co-pay.

I have no idea how this might be related to your hemorrhoid, but any dramatic change in bowel habits--and I'd say going from 1x/day to 2-3x/day is pretty dramatic--warrants a trip to the doctor.

That whole "change of bowel habits" falls under "consult a physician".
