Is there any central authority or archive for XML DTDs and Schemas? I am thinking of developing an *ML, and would like to know if similar work has already been done, if there are any naming conventions, etc.

Maybe if you told us what general area you're thinking of working in, someone could point you towards the right standards body?

Somebody should totally name something YRML ("thermal" -- the "Y" as in "ye olde"), because it's a bad-ass name.
