setting username variable with Win95/98

Is this the easiest way to set the username variable with Win95/98?

This links to and explains how to use an executable (putinenv.exe) to get pretty much the same information. I don't know if it has any advantage for you over the other methods, but it will look a little cleaner in your script and you can also use it to get some other info too (like the login server's name).
