Question: history of e-learning tools

Do you know resources illustrating the history of e-learning ?

I'd like to find illustrations of computer/technology based learning tools from the early years of distant learning (through the phone or even mail) to the current learning "2.0" stuff.

How universities and corporations used these emergent tools in the early years (50's to 90's) ?

This Wikipedia article seems to meet your requirements:

History of Virtual Learning Environments

You might want to look at the websites of educational technology, instructional design, instructional systems technology programs. My program has an explanation of the basic history that might help with key words and search terms that will be helpful. You will probably find other progams have similar resources.
