Where the WiFi?

Where can I find maps of wifi access points (free, hopefully) in major cities?

I am travelling through Europe with my laptop, and having a hard time finding free wifi. There has to be some global mashup-y map thing where you can visualize known wifi access points, no?
Specific cities I'm looking for: Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rotterdam. (recommendations of good spots in these cities also welcome, links, etc.)

Well there's Fon, plus a few other WiFi you-scratch-my-back projects... I'm not sure any of them have real critical mass, though.

Try here. It will list the nearest wifi to your location and then if you click on the name of the hotspot, it'll show you a map of where it's located.

How about WiGLE - well, unfortunately the maps aren't all that great, but once you sign-up you may be able to take the raw data and overlay it yourself.

I think you'd be able to do a lot of what you want by using Plazes.com. It's quite big here in Europe. You can even use it on your mobile now, good for when you're outside wifi coverage.

I was just recommended this: free-hotspot.com in the Danish newspaper Børsen
