Right click, save link target as?

FirefoxMp3Filter: Why are clicked mp3s opening in Quicktime instead of giving me an option to save?

When I click mp3 links in Firefox 2.0, instead of giving me a download dialog box, it opens a new tab, and starts streaming it with Quicktime. No chance to save it :(

IE lets me right-click and "save target as".

Also pointed out here by mrgrimm, but no answer in thread thus far.

Can't you right-click and 'Save Link As...'?

Hold down option/alt when clicking and the file will download to your default downloads folder instead of playing in the browser.

Or you can go Tools > Options, then Content, then File Types > Manage, choose 'MP3', click 'Change Action...' and set it to what you want.

No. The right-click menu allows you to save the link (the URL), but not the link target (the actual file).

"Save link as..." in Firefox should save the actual file. Have you tried it?

Thanks _Robot_ and _chris_.

Foolish of me to not actually try the save link option. I guess it was IE that would only save the URL.

Thanks for the 3 good options. :)
