MySpace Layout that Omits Age?

I need an easy-to-read MySpace layout that does not display my age.

I'm a late-bloomer to the House Music club and DJ scene and most of my friends are in their 20s and 30s (I'm very early 40s). Yes, my friends know my true age, but I don't want it displayed for all to see on my MySpace profile. I've seen many layouts that do not display a person's age, but they are all difficult to read due to clashing colors, background images, etc. I actually prefer the clean look of the default profiles, EXCEPT that the default displays my age. Does anyone know of a relatively bare-bones layout that will allow me to tweak my profile to omit my age? Many thanks in advance!

I dont know if your able to hide your age anymore!!

You used to be able to put a certain CSS code into your "location", which would hide all text below it (age, online status, last login), but recently they stopped allowing it!! OR so was my experience with it.

To find the codes (they are still available everywhere!) try some google searches like "hide location myspace profile" and the such.

I also noticed you can no longer put html code in your "Companies" section (i used to link to my companies).

If your reasonably proficient with HTML, CSS, etc you can do whats known as a "Div Overlay" where you completely design your own page over the top of the traditional page design. My page uses this, and you can find tutorials, wizards and stuff. Hope that helps!

I've just recently been messing with my profile and was able to eradicate everything on the page, except:

*About Me
*Age/Online Status/Last Login
*Details

There's lots of code out there, the same codes repeated over 400 pages, but none of it seems to work for the things above. Anyone else have any luck?

If all else fails, Jessamyn's profile links to an overlay here...

oh, um, what up, philsi, didn't see you at first ;-)

The only downside is that on a page like mine your age is still viewable if someone really wants to find it (if you view source) you can find it, as the overlay is just that: an overlay over the original myspace content.

If you set yourself up as a band/musician, it doesn't show your age.

People who use the Myspace custom style remover Greasemonkey script (like me) can still see it too.

You could change your age setting to something obviously not correct, like 88?

I know someone who feels the same way + she has herself down as 101 yrs old, which just comes off as silly.

loiseau, I'd recommend the same thing.

One of my friends is 99 too and apparently he got a warning at some point that he must display his real age or he will be removed.
He still has a fake age though and his profile is still there.

As someone with many, many years in the house and club scene behind me, I say go with your real age.

Unless you are trying to pick up girls, I don't see what the problem is. The scene is not particularly age-ist, in my experience.

Embrace it :) Otherwise when people find out your real age, they'll think you're skeevy. And they will, because if nothing else, the scene is full of gossips.

it says I am 0.1 inches high on my myspace. Does height perception affect the club scene as much as age?

just lie about your age. fiddle with the year til it has your favourite (obviously wrong) number there. mine says i'm 99 years old; i'm clearly not a day older than 86.

I wonder if there's a cutoff age on the MySpace side? I seem to recall when trying to put my age in, they had birth years as far back as 1900, but wouldn't allow me to be older than 99. Perhaps when your 100th birthday is coming up, there's a flag? Just a thought.

Did you try the Customizing subcategory (under the MySpace category) within the MySpace forums themselves?
