A friend of my brother's was arrested last night in Manhattan for DWI. What can my brother do to help him out?

The arrest was in midtown Manhattan last night around 4 AM, and as far as my brother knows none of his friends have heard from this guy since. What can my brother do right now (or in the next few hours) to locate him and (if necessary) get him out of jail?

Other legal advice ("Get a lawyer" is a given, any recommendations?) is welcome, but the most pressing thing right now is finding his friend and helping him out in the short term.

call the police station, ask if he's being held...etc!
