Good free subdomain hosts?

A permutation of this question has been asked previously, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with free subdomain hosts. I need to run a forum-type (probably YaBBS-based) site for next eight months only, so I don't need a yearly package and I'd prefer to not spend a dime if possible, but I don't want it littered with pop-ups and banners either. Ideas or leads?

I have used Freeservers in the past and found them to be fine (keeping in mind that you get what you pay for). They used to have an ad banner across the top of every page, though. I would be surprised to find a free host without some sort of advertising.

umm....
do you just want the subdomain? or the whole domain? or domain and space?

Response by poster: Just a not-too-forgettable subdomain on a not-too-odd domain would make me happy.

Disclaimer: I run the following hosting provider..

fredom2operate has what it sounds like you're searching for.. PHP, CF, MySQL, no ads, etc... If you do register, make a note in the comments form that you're from MeFi and you'll get hooked up within the next 12 hours or so.
