I'm looking at get a Doc Johnson Pocket Rocket as a stocking stuffer for my girlfriend for Xmas. Ordinarily I'd order it online but as we're only a few days away from the holiday, can anyone tell me where, besides an "Adult Shop," I might be able to buy this?

...because adult shops make me, you know, kinda queasy.

I don't know where you are, but in my area we have this small chain of exotic lingerie stores that carry such items.
Or so I'm told...

Heh. Good luck finding a sex toy outside a sex toy shop.

If you're in Seattle, NYC or LA you could try Babeland, which has none of the sleazy atmosphere you get in other adult shops. Good Vibrations in San Francisco is another non-queasy-making shop.

You can find any number of "personal massagers" at drugstores, Target, dollar stores, and lots of other places. But a Doc Johnson Pocket Rocket specifically? I'd be surprised if you could find that outside a specialty store.

Your location would make this question much more answerable. Although I am not sure why going to an "adult novelty store" is so distasteful for you. Over the last 10 years, their social acceptability has moved way up, and must of the ones I've visited have been fairly unscary.

You might be able to attend or host an Ann Summers/Fantasia party. Basically, a sales rep from the company comes to the house and shows you a variety of products.

I can understand being a little sketched out by Troy sex shops. You might want to hop the border over into Pittsfield MA where there is an Amazing.Net, a pretty tame novelty store chain (google maps link). It's probably about an hour from Albany.

I'd suggest paying someone else to go into the store and buy it for you--if it works for high school kids and beer, it ought to work for you and sex toys--but if it's the part of town you have an aversion to, I don't know what to say. Are there any bike messenger services in your area? You could probably pay one of them to go buy it for you, although that seems a little excessive.

Troy, eh? There's a head shop/sex shop in a strip mall on Wolf Road next to the Outback restaurant, but I forget the name of it... There's a Guitar Center (or other some sort of music shop) in the same place.
