Name the tune

Name that tune. This [mp3, 100 Kb] is a shamefully crude MIDI reconstruction of part of the tune in question. I'd place it around 1975, Moog type Top 100 pop music; sounds something like Hot Butter but is not. Any ideas what it is?

Apparently this site will search based on humming. I don't know how good it is. I don't recognise your tune, I'm sorry.

I tried it out on Song Tapper and found no hits that seemed to match the period you were looking for. Perhaps this combined with the humming site you can find something?

Hot Butter is called "the first electronic hit" and was 1972, so your estimate may be a little late.

Hearing it the first time, I instantly thought of the instrumental break form (Everyone Knows it's) Windy. The baseline, however, was more reminiscent of Kraftwerk, particularly Electric Cafe, Kometmelodie 2 (Windows Media), or Endless Europe.

A couple more possibilities that come to mind are E.V.A. by Jean-Jacques Perrey & Dana Countryman and Electric Disneyland Parade, by Wendy Carlos.

the theme from the the rockford files was in the top 100 that year and I remember a keyboard/moog thing happening with that tune. But it sounds nothing like the the clip provided here.
Swing and a miss!!

I'm thinking that it sounds similar to the theme-song from Pinwheel the children's show on PBS. Those first couple notes could be throwing me off though. It started in 1979. You can listen here.
