I need Kranky

How can I get my hands on some Kranky?

Apparently it's chocolate-covered cornflake candy, made by Ricolino in Mexico. My google-fu is failing to find a U.S. supplier.

Found on: this site:

"But somehow, bimbo and it's omnipresence here manages to increase the humor a hundred fold. and the kicker for me is this: under the brand ricolino, bimbo sells a chocolate-coated corn flake candy called "kranky.""

Google-fu-ing bimbo and kranky now.

(Not that it'll do a world of good, since, as you said the candy is marketed under the name Ricolino, but you know, just in case.)

Also shot bimbo an email using their "contact us" to see if they could point me in the right direction.

I asked my Mexican Co-Worker, and he said you can get it in Mexican grocery stores in the U.S. Of course you would have to leave the convenience of your home.

I can get bimbo cakes at my local 7-11, due to a strong Mexican population in the neighborhood. I second the mexican grocery store.

There is always a catch, isn't there?

There are a few Mexican grocers in my old home town. I will have to check them the next time I get out that way.

Here's a picture of a Kranky package for easy reference.

If you want to stay home and just call those grocers before making the effort to leave the house, here's a script:

"Hola. Tienen un dulce Mexicano de Ricolino (o Bimbo) que se llama Kranky?"

"Si, Kranky. Ka-Erre-Ah-Ene-Ka-Ygriega!"

Yeah, the 7-11's have increasingly been stocking Bimbo and other Mexican brands of candy. I'll keep an eye out around Dallas, crash, and see if I can't spot some.

Within a few miles of my house, there is a Fiesta Mart, a Carnival and a place called Jerry's Supermarket. If it is a Mexican food and is not in one of those places, then it doesn't exist. I'll try to check on it.

Response by poster: A bag or two is all I need. Surprise gift for a coworker who was mentioning it at the holiday party last week.

This crack-like snack is available (under other brands) at many asian grocery stores (like Uwajimaya here in Seattle). Also available: strawberry-covered corn flakes! I can't be left alone with a bag of either. Mmmm...

I just got a response.

"DEAR SARAH:

we are starting the distribution of Kranky in USA.

I am copying our Sales Manager in USA. He will be in contact with you to
give you more information.

Thank you very much for your interest.

Best regards,

LILIAN BENITEZ
