Question: Girl with burnt angel wings - what's the movie called?

Vaguely remembered movie filter: Girl is dressed as angel, running from a fire (house is burning down).

Her wings are singed. She gets picked up by a cop (this happens right at the beginning of the movie). The rest of the movie goes back to tell the story of how she got there.
Any guesses as to what it could be?

Aargh! I get drawn into threads like these, because they trigger the same vague memory in me! Now I must know.

I could be completely wrong, but I am thinking the fireman was possibly Nicholas Cage. Maaaaaybe. But I really have no idea.

Is it Some Girl? I don't remember about the cop, but Marissa Ribisi is walking away from a fire dressed as an angel at the beginning of the movie.

Was this recent? There was an ABC Family movie (which I think is going to become a series) called The Fallen. It opens in a manner very similar to that.
