I'm planning on spending this coming weekend (February 20-22) in New York City. On the agenda is the MeFi meetup, of course, but some other time that weekend I'd also like to go dancing somewhere. Can anyone recommend a good club, or a DJ that's appearing somewhere? [more inside]

I'd prefer something without a ridiculously expensive entry fee, and something where I won't have to wait outside for forty-five minutes to get into a club that's almost completely empty, while VIPs skip the line in the meantime. I don't have a musical preference--I'm open to suggestions, and anything with the semblance of a beat will do, as long as I know what I'm getting into.

maybe S.O.B.'s? (most places are bridge-and-tunnel on the weekend really, and with long lines and door bitches--we have a few new giant places tho (crobar and marquee)

Hey Prospero... it's not the same as a personal recommendation from a native, but I rely heavily on Time Out when I travel... and their New York Guide is really top-notch.

Beyond that, I plan on using Manahattan User's Guide (MUG) in the planning of my next trip out that way.
