Lost SCTV episode spoofing "The Cisco Kid"

Help me find the lost SCTV episode featuring The Cisco Kid.

A dear friend has raved about an SCTV episode in which they spoofed The Cisco Kid. He says they pulled the episode because SCTV neglected to get the rights to re-broadcast the The Cisco Kid, and it has grown in his memory to be the funniest thing EVAR.
I'm thinking it would make a nice holiday gift for a great human being, does anyone know where I could lay my hands on a copy?

You might try asking in alt.tv.sctv . It's a newsgroup dedicated to SCTV and Rick Moranis has been known to post there under a nom d'plume.

If it was going to be legitimately released anywhere, it would be on the new Best of the Early Years set, and it looks like it isn't. Rights issues, presumably.

Holy cow - I barely remember this from seeing it in a sleep-deprived state at 1:00am when I was in high school.

There is an SCTV book by Dave Thomas. Might be a good place to start in terms of finding names of people who might have access to it.

Joe Flaherty used to post to the alt.tv.sctv group, too.

Anyway, here's a thread about that skit and the ownership of the season (and hence legal hurdles). Anyway, it is in Season 3 (25th episode, episode 77 overall).
Sadly it does not look like it appears on Best of the Early Years.

Response by poster: Thanks, kingfisher. From that info it looks like the Library of Congress has it here. Hmmm, now what....
