What to do at a 49ers game?

SF Bay Filter: Going to our first 49ers game Christmas Eve, looking for traffic, tailgating and general advice.

We have tickets (LR 14) and a parking pass; I am taking my wife, teen boys and inlaws to the game. We want to make the most of this rare opportunity - what should we do?

Best answer: If it's sold out and you've got a fairly large vehicle, try to go early to snag a normal parking spot. That parking lot has some of the smallest, tightest parking I've ever seen.

Best answer: gt2 is right about getting there early. if you are going to tailgate, take a propane heater for the wife and in-laws; 3com park can get mighty cold in december.

i always suggest a thermos full of gluhwein for any wintertime outdoor event. i've worked security at 3com, and they are supposed to stop people from bringing in outside alcohol, but they will likely leave a thermos alone assuming it is coffee. even if they do catch you, we just told people to dump it out or kill it in the parking lot.

overestimating what you need to keep warm will keep everyone happy. sitting on one place for a few hours doesn't exactly work up a sweat.

and seriously, don't be the stingy dad when it comes to ballpark food. it's half the fun!

Heckle them to put Michael Robinson in the game?

Don't forget a pair of binox or opera glasses.

Bring a coat. A nice, warm coat. It gets cold there. bryak speaks the truth.
